| Wayne Creel concentrates his practice in trial and appellate commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. Mr. Creel's experience includes representing clients in matters involving breach of contract, business torts, misappropriation of trade secrets, asset recovery, franchising and landlord/tenant disputes.
One of Mr. Creel's recent matters involved serving as part of the team that represented the trustee of a bankruptcy estate in pursuing claims against former employees and customers who were alleged to have illegally interfered with the company's business and employment contracts and violated the Illinois Trade Secrets Act.
While in law school, Mr. Creel was a senior member of Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and a member of the Philip H. Corboy Trial Team.
Experience

Represented real estate agency and broker in action brought by a purchaser of a multi-unit apartment building. The purchaser alleged that the broker and agency assisted the seller in fraudulently and negligently misrepresenting the condition of the property. Mr. Creel was successful in having the entire complaint dismissed against the broker and agency for failure to state a claim for fraud and negligence.

Represented a trustee of a bankruptcy estate in pursuing claims against former employees and customers who were alleged to have illegally interfered with the company's business and employment contracts and violated the Illinois Trade Secrets Act.

Represented area developer in dispute against franchisee relating to breach of contract for construction of a fast-food restaurant in an Illinois shopping mall.

Represented a real estate trust in forcible detainer action against commercial tenant. Mr. Creel was successful in bringing about a settlement of the matter, which included the tenant vacating the property and paying outstanding rent and penalties.

Represented Colorado business that had obtained a judgment in Colorado. Mr. Creel recorded the Colorado judgment and initiated proceedings to discover assets held by the judgment debtor in Illinois.

Represented individual in appeal before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in a criminal matter (United States v. Bonty, 2007 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 50993 (D.Ill. 2007)).
