Position: Associate – Corporate

Dykema’s Bloomfield Hills office seeks an associate with two to five years of experience in corporate practice. Experience with mergers and acquisitions is mandatory. Candidates also should be familiar with financing and general corporate representation including entity formation and capitalization, corporate governance issues, shareholder agreements and customer and supplier relationships. Drafting of acquisition agreements and ancillary related documents will be expected. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required.

Office: Detroit / Bloomfield Hills, MI
Position: Associate – Taxation

Dykema’s Taxation Group seeks an associate with three to four years of experience in a general tax practice, including the taxation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, Federal, state and local tax issues, tax reporting, related audits, drafting ancillary business documents, and estate and tax planning. Candidate would be resident in Detroit but would need to have a periodic presence in our Bloomfield Hills office, as well as working with lawyers in many of our other offices. Practice will include working on business combinations and other M&A activities from preliminary memoranda through deal closing on all Federal, state and local tax planning and reporting matters.

We seek those with technical expertise commensurate with years of experience, excellent drafting skills with keen attention to detail and strong interpersonal and client skills. Candidates should be team players with an appreciation for the importance of participating in practice development activities.

Office: Washington, DC
Position: Associate – Litigation

Dykema's Washington, DC office seeks an associate with a minimum of two to three years of complex litigation experience. Work will involve the defense of product liability and class action cases at the trial and appellate levels in local and other jurisdictions nationwide. Responsibilities will include drafting pleadings, drafting discovery requests and responses, assisting with document-related work, legal research, and writing briefs Other duties will include factual investigation, assisting with deposition preparation, the taking and attending of depositions, arguing motions, and assisting with trials. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required. Familiarity with products liability law and/or consumer class action defense experience is a plus.

Candidates must be admitted in Washington, DC and preferably also be a member of the Maryland or Virginia State Bars.
