On November 20, 2013, Carl Rashid, Jr., a Detroit-based member of Dykema’s Real Estate Practice Group and leader of the Firm’s Property Tax Appeals practice, moderated—and was one of three presenters in (the others both Michigan-based tax practitioners)—a panel discussion,"Hot Topics in Real Estate Tax.” This discussion, part of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) After Hours Tax Law Series, will be available as an on-demand webcast beginning December 10, 2013.

The discussion addressed a broad array of real estate tax issues, including: transfer taxes, new Tax Tribunal practice protocols, an update on uncapping developments and a review of the State Tax Commission’s revised transfer of ownership guidelines. Rashid, drawing upon experience in property tax appeals, shared insights into how to correct a property tax assessment using an MCL 211.154 petition.

The “Hot Topics in Real Estate Tax” webinar is eligible for CLE credit. To learn more about this on-demand webcast, click here.
