Wayne D. Roberts, member and Assistant Leader of Dykema’s Tax Practice Group, has been elected Vice-Chair of the National Association of State Bar Tax Sections (NASBTS), a national organization—affiliated with the American Bar Association—whose mission is to provide a forum for communication and education among the tax law sections in state and local bar associations across the country. NASBTS’ mission also involves helping to facilitate the sharing of ideas and learning among the various state and local tax sections.  To carry out its mission, the organization conducts regular meetings that include peer-to-peer roundtable discussions of the latest tax developments in states throughout the country.

Roberts’ appointment was announced by the 12-member NASBTS Executive Committee—the group that serves as the organization’s governing board—at its annual meeting on Friday, February 21. The Vice-Chairman appointment is for a two-year term.

Mike Cumming, who leads Dykema’s Taxation practice, says: “We congratulate Wayne on this honor. Being elected to serve this national organization in such a significant leadership role speaks wonderfully not only of his knowledge and understanding of tax law, but also of his managerial and leadership talents.”
