Thomas B. Alleman, Dallas-based member in Dykema’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group and Director of the firm’s Insurance Industry Group, provided the closing comments in The Deal report, “Congress, Gorsuch May Team Up to Roll Back Agency Power.”

The article examines various provisions of the Regulatory Accountability Act, a cluster of bills intended to reduce the power federal administrative agencies have in determining the law, and which, so far, has passed in the House. Alleman comments that the concession granting preliminary hearings for parties affected by a proposed regulation will bring the rule-making process to a standstill.
