Brian J. Page, Grand Rapids-based member and co-leader of Dykema’s national Lending Team, was recently elected Chairman of the Michigan Land Title Standards Committee. Page has been a working Member of the Michigan Land Title Standards Committee for over 20 years, chairing and serving on various subcommittees dedicated to particular areas of Michigan land title law. He also sits on the Style Committee, which is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposed land title standards before publication.

The Michigan Land Title Standards Committee, a standing committee within the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, writes and publishes the Michigan Land Title Standards (now in its Sixth Edition), the most authoritative reference on the law of land titles and other aspects of real property law, as developed and interpreted in Michigan.

Since its original publication more than 60 years ago, the Standards have grown in importance and are now generally regarded as among the most complete and authoritative of all the state land title standards in the United States. Both trial and appellate courts frequently cite the Standards in support of the legal principles relied upon in decisions in real property cases.

Page, whose practice focuses on commercial real estate and business and real estate finance transactions, is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), one of just 950 real estate lawyers nationwide to achieve this designation.
