Cooney-Led Defense Verdict Featured in The Voice

Leader of Dykema's Automotive and Product Liability Practice Group, Mike Cooney, recently prevailed in a product liability case on behalf of Dykema client, Key Safety Systems, Inc. (KSS). Coverage of the verdict was featured in DRI's The Voice. In the matter, the plaintiff sustained injuries resulting from an automobile accident in which the plaintiff rode as the front passenger of a Ford Explorer. Plaintiff alleged that defects in the front passenger airbag sensors caused late deployment of the airbag.

After a two-week trial, on December 9, 2011 a Bergen County, New Jersey jury found in favor of KSS, and that the plaintiff's injuries resulting from the accident were not the result of a KSS product performance issue.
