Dykema, a leading national law firm, and The US-China Business Council will be hosting a free breakfast program entitled, “China Outlook: Emerging Issues in Doing Business in China,” to help companies better understand issues and what’s at stake. The program is scheduled to take place at the Detroit Athletic Club on Thursday, September 25, 2014.

China remains a crucial market for US companies. Most American firms report that China is a top priority market for their business, and they continue to pursue new markets and customers in China. But with that opportunity comes challenges. US companies face a range of issues in China, such as growing competition with Chinese companies, rising costs, market access barriers, and intellectual property protection. China’s new leadership has given positive signals that they plan to pursue economic reforms that could impact these issues and create new opportunities for US companies.

Leading experts will discuss the current economic outlook and operating environment in China as well as potential opportunities and challenges for American firms. Panelists include:

  • John Frisbie, President, US-China Business Council
  • Emily Kolinski Morris, Senior Economist, Ford Motor Company
  • Richard Goetz, International Practice Group Leader, Dykema Gossett
