Elizabeth Khalil to Speak at the ACI Women Leaders in Financial Services Law and Compliance

Elizabeth Khalil, Chicago-based member in Dykema’s Government Policy Practice Group, will serve as featured speaker at the American Conference Institute’s Women Leaders in Financial Services Law and Compliance Conference, which will takes place May 12-13 in New York City.

Khalil will serve on a panel titled, “Guarding Financial Service Companies and the Law Firms Representing Them Against Risk and Exposure vis-à-vis Cybersecurity and Data Privacy,” which will discuss the following topics:

• Assessing new and emerging cybersecurity and data privacy threats to financial services and baking companies
• Update on state and federal regulations pertaining to data privacy and protection and cyber security
• Mitigating the risk of a data breach and minimizing the fallout when a data breach does occur
• Lessons learned from the latest big privacy /data breach lawsuits: plaintiffs’ claims and theories of liability and defense strategies
