Kohler and Laurenza Quoted in Law360 Article on Automotive Legislation & Regulation

Bill Kohler, Detroit-based co-leader of Dykema's Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Team, and Paul Laurenza, Managing Member of the firm's Washington, D.C., office and Chairman of the Connected Vehicle Trade Association, were both quoted in the Law360 article, "Automotive Legislation & Regulation To Watch In 2017."

In the article, Kohler states that the biggest indication of how the guidelines for the development and deployment of automated vehicles are working will be how many autonomous vehicle manufacturers respond to the plan's voluntary 15-point safety assessment.

Later in the article, Laurenza noted the vehicle-to-vehicle notice of proposed rulemaking left many unanswered questions related to how the system will be monitored, which will need to be addressed before the rule is made final.
