In the Automotive World article, “V2V Tech Deployment ‘raises novel and extremely complex issues,’”  Paul Laurenza, a member of Dykema’s Automotive Industry Group and Chairman of the Connected Vehicle Trade Association, insightfully explains the challenges associated with the proposed V2V rule requiring the installation of crash-avoidance systems in new passenger vehicles. Among other issues, Laurenza discusses manufacturer liability and the retrofitting of older automobiles with connected-car apparatus.
