William Lentine Appointed to AICPA Joint Trial Board

William C. Lentine, Bloomfield Hills-based member in Dykema’s Taxation and Estates group, has been elected to serve a three-year term of service on the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Joint Trial Board. His term officially begins this year by appointment at the Fall Council/Annual Members Meeting on October 23-25, 2016, and concludes in May 2020.

Lentine has been an active member of the AICPA since he became a licensed CPA in Illinois in 2006 and has served the organization in a various roles. In addition, he is a regular speaker at CPA programs and generally discussing tax and other CPA topics.

With more than 415,000 members, the AICPA is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization devoted to issues impacting the accounting profession. Founded in 1887, the AICPA represents the CPA profession nationally regarding rule-making and standard-setting, and serves as an advocate before legislative bodies, public interest groups and other professional organizations. It develops standards for audits of private companies and other services by CPAs; provides educational guidance materials to its members; develops and grades the Uniform CPA Examination; and monitors and enforces compliance with the profession’s technical and ethical standards.
