William Lentine Named an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

William C. Lentine, Bloomfield Hills-based member in Dykema’s Taxation and Estates Practice Group, was named one of 30 “Up & Coming Lawyers” for 2016 by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. A luncheon celebrating the honorees will be held December 1 at the Detroit Marriott Troy, Michigan, and each attorney recognized will be profiled in a special issue distributed at the event and in the December 5 issue of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, the honorees of the Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2016 have spent less than a decade in practice and display the ambition, drive, determination and accomplishments that make them worthy of the “Up & Coming Lawyers” title.

In his practice, Lentine is focuses on corporate, partnership, and mergers & acquisitions tax matters and estate planning for executives and high net worth individuals. He has experience acting as outside general counsel, including advising on corporate governance issues, compliance and other general corporate law matters with significant experience advising foreign companies on inbound startup formations and acquisitions.

Lentine is a licensed CPA in Illinois with experience in a broad spectrum of tax and accounting issues. He is a former member of the AICPA Tax Division's Corporations and Shareholders Technical Resource Panel. He has also worked with the Michigan Tax Tribunal, the MSU College of Law Low Income Tax Clinic and a "Big Four" accounting firm. As a member of the Council of the Tax Section of the Michigan bar, Lentine serves as the Editor of the Michigan Tax Lawyer. He is also active in the Business Law Section of the ABA serving on the Mergers & Acquisitions committee and the chair of the Mergers & Acquisitions subcommittee in the Tax committee.

Lentine, who has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as “Rising Star” each year since 2014, graduated with a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law, and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
