Jack Schaedel Reviews Employee v. Contractor Dilemma in HR Dive
John (Jack) P. Schaedel, Los Angeles-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment practice group, was quoted at length in the HR DIVE article, “Employee vs. Independent Contractor: The State of Worker Classification.”
In his comments, Schaedel explains why obsolete definitions of worker categories are still defended by state and federal governments and by the IRS, and calls for more modern denominations of labor categories to provide greater flexibility for both workers and employers.
