Steve Tupper, Bloomfield Hills-based member and leader of Dykema’s Privacy, Data Security and E-Commerce practice, authored the article, “FAA Regulations Could Help Drones Take Wing,” in the May 2015 issue of Metropolitan Corporate Counsel.

The article focuses on drones, which might soon have regulations that clarify how, when and why they can operate. Tupper discusses the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) recently published notice of proposed rulemaking, which provides a framework for commercial operation of unmanned aerial systems in the United States that allows commercial operators and hobbyists alike to operate without a special exemption from the FAA and even do so for commercial purposes.
