Dykema co-sponsored the Michigan State Law Review Symposium on The Transformation of Transportation, which took place April 7-8 in East Lansing, Mich. Professor Nicholas J. Wittner, from Michigan State University's Law College and Of Counsel in Dykema’s Litigation Department, served as the event's faculty adviser. Additionally, both Wittner and Paul M. Laurenza, a member of Dykema’s Government Policy Practice Group and Office Managing Member of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, served as featured presenters at the event.

The symposium discussed the legal issues, including liability, privacy, and regulation, involved with vehicle-to-vehicle safety communications and autonomous vehicle technology. Laurenza’s presentation was given during the product liability session of the symposium and covered regulatory developments regarding connected and automated vehicles.
