LANSING - Leading law firm, Dykema Gossett PLLC, announced today that Andrew H. Doerr joined its Lansing office as Government Policy Advisor in the firm's Government Policy Practice Group. Doerr brings more than 15 years of lobbying, legislative and political experience.

Most recently Doerr served as Deputy Legislative Director for Secretary of State Ruth Johnson. He is experienced in review, analysis and drafting of proposed legislation and has testified before numerous House and Senate Committees in response to the impact of pending legislation. At Dykema, Doerr will focus on developing effective legislative strategy for the firm's broad client base.

Dykema's Government Policy Practice Group is a hybrid team, consisting of both attorneys and non-attorney government policy advisors. The group's focus is to support client needs through both traditional and innovative channels including the development of effective public policy strategy, drafting legislation and administrative rules, initiating and defending public policy litigation and when necessary, lobbying in support of or challenging the implementation of legislation or administrative rules. The team also leverages its unique understanding of the policy making processes and its relationships with all branches of state and federal government, and with both Democratic and Republican political leaders, to help promote and protect client interests.
