Thomas M. Schehr Named President of Federal Bar Association’s Eastern District of Michigan Chapter

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Thomas M. Schehr was elected President of the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

The Federal Bar Association is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, education and professional development of all attorneys in federal practice. He will hold his new position for the 2014-15 year.

“I am very excited to take on this new role with the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter and continue to propel our vision forward,” said Schehr.

Based in the firm’s Detroit office, Schehr is the leader of Dykema's Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. He maintains an active federal court practice, and has successfully tried several business and commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts and in arbitration.

“Tom has thoroughly demonstrated his abilities as a leader in serving as head of the firm’s Financial Services Litigation Practice Group,” said Sherrie Farrell, Managing Member of Dykema’s Detroit office. “His track record at the firm and in the courtroom shows that he will be an incredibly capable President of the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.”

Schehr received a B.A. from Michigan State University and a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University.
