Harvey Rosen is a member of Dykema's Corporate Finance Practice Group. He is a highly successful transactional attorney bringing to the Firm more than 40 years of experience as a business and legal advisor to enterprises ranging from advanced and emerging technologies to banking and finance in locations as far flung as Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Iraq and Istanbul.
Within his more than four decades of practice, Mr. Rosen has focused on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities work for numerous publicly and privately held entities. He has been a pioneer in activities as diverse as successfully completing the first acquisition of a U.S. bank by Taiwanese based investors to having initiated the first commercial flight between Istanbul and Erbil, Kurdistan and placing the first contracts for the conversion of a former military airstrip into what is now the Erbil International Airport. Mr. Rosen was the founding COO and General Counsel for Kudo Air, which was a joint venture between a private group and members of a pre-eminent Kurdish family group, initially providing charter service between Istanbul and Erbil.
Mr. Rosen was a founder, and for 15 years served as the Managing Principal of the law firm of Rosen, Wachtell & Gilbert, which specialized in corporate, banking and finance matters. He is also frequently called upon to serve as an expert witness in corporate governance and transactional matters and has worked extensively with “Special Committees” of Boards of Directors in highly sensitive matters.
Active in public benefit organizations, Mr. Rosen has been presented the "Volunteer of the Year" award for his work as Special Pro Bono Counsel to Assistance League of Southern California, one of Southern California’s largest non-profit organizations, in existence since 1919. He has taught at the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University and continues to mentor students in its Entrepreneurship Program. He is a frequent lecturer at Pepperdine’s Law and Business schools. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University and is admitted to practice in both California and Washington D.C.
