Amy M. Christen, Member, Employee Benefits Practice Group - Dykema

Amy Christen is a member of Dykema's Employee Benefits Practice Group, serving Dykema's clients nationwide. Her experiences involve over twenty years in compliance and design of health and other welfare plans, qualified retirement plans (including governmental and private sector defined benefit plans and profit sharing and 401(k) plans), sections 457 or 403(b) plans, or other nonqualified plans. She is one of many experts at Dykema on the Affordable Care Act, including the market reform provisions, employer and individual mandate provisions and the ACA reporting obligations. Amy obtained her J.D., magna cum laude in 1995, and is a frequent speaker on ACA, ERISA and other employee benefit topics.

Michael L. Schenk, Employee Benefits National Practice, Compliance: North and South Regions - Wells Fargo Insurance

Michael Schenk is a senior compliance consultant for Wells Fargo Insurance, serving our Midwest offices. His responsibilities include assisting with benefits compliance function in support of the Wells Fargo Insurance professionals in those regions with respect to the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, tax, and other legal compliance needs of their clients' health and welfare benefit plans.

Dan Gowen, National Practice Leader, Employee Benefits - Wells Fargo Insurance

As a national practice leader for employee benefits, Dan is responsible for developing new employee benefits products and services, as well as managing third-party and carrier relationships. He provides education and training support to Wells Fargo Insurance team members, and develops strategic initiatives to establish and maintain "best practices" by helping to ensure all offices are providing the same products and quality of service to clients.

Dan has over 21 years of experience in the benefits industry with a prior responsibility for developing and implementing health and welfare strategies, managing a substantial book of business, and being an underwriter with two national insurance carriers.
