Position: Associate – Corporate

Dykema’s Bloomfield Hills office seeks an associate with four to six years of experience in corporate practice. Experience with mergers and acquisitions is mandatory. Candidates also should be familiar with financing and general corporate representation including entity formation and capitalization, corporate governance issues, shareholder agreements and customer and supplier relationships. Drafting of acquisition agreements and ancillary related documents will be expected. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required.

Office: Chicago
Position: Staff Attorney – Financial Services Litigation

Dykema’s Chicago office seeks an attorney with three to five years of financial services litigation experience for a staff attorney position. Previous experience with mortgage-related litigation is required; experience representing banks, insurance carriers and lenders in such matters is preferred. The work requires attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines. Candidates must have strong writing and oral advocacy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and arguing motions and other pleadings, significant case development / management experience and experience with federal and local state courts. Admission to the Illinois Bar is required. Admission to Indiana Bar is a plus.

Office: Washington, DC
Position: Associate - Litigation

Dykema's Washington, DC office seeks an associate with one to three years of complex litigation experience. Work will involve the defense of product liability and class action cases at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court, locally and nationwide. Responsibilities will include drafting pleadings, drafting discovery requests and responses, preparing subpoenas, document review and analysis, legal research, and writing briefs.  Other duties will include factual investigation, assisting with deposition preparation, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and assisting with trials. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills are required. There will be opportunities to work with lawyers in other offices and occasional travel. Familiarity with products liability law and/or consumer class action defense experience is a plus but not required. A successful applicant will have excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, Lexis, Relativity and ECF.

Candidates must be admitted in Washington, DC and preferably also be a member of the Maryland or Virginia State Bar.
