Office: Bloomfield Hills, MI
Position: Litigation Paralegal

Our Bloomfield Hills office has an opening for a Litigation Paralegal with at least five years of paralegal experience. ABA approved paralegal degree preferred. The ideal applicant will have experience with civil trials, products liability, class action defense, and commercial litigation nationwide. This position requires interaction with clients, vendors, outside counsel, and lawyers and staff in other Dykema offices; therefore, effective oral and written communication is essential. In addition, desired skills and experience include:

  • High level of comfort with technology, including Relativity, Trial Director, PowerPoint and efiling;
  • Familiar with LEXIS, cite-checking and bluebook proficiency;
  • Experience with trial preparation, including managing logistics and providing assistance at trial;
  • Experience with drafting initial pleadings, routine motions and responses to discovery;
  • Experience assisting with interviewing witnesses, collecting and organizing information and documents;
  • Experience with ESI and e-discovery procedures;
  • The ability to manage large case files, document reviews and productions;
  • Work efficiently within a team driven environment and the ability to prioritize assignments and delegate when necessary;
  • Availability for overtime and travel for trial.

Office: Washington, DC
Position: Product Litigation Paralegal

Our Washington DC office has an opening for a Litigation Paralegal. A minimum of three years of paralegal experience is required. An ABA approved paralegal degree is preferred. The ideal applicant will have experience with products liability, class action defense, and litigation generally. This position requires interaction with clients, vendors, outside counsel, experts, and lawyers and staff in other Dykema offices, so effective oral and written communications are essential. In addition, desired skills and experience include:

  • High level of comfort with technology and legal software programs, including Relativity, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-filing via ECF;
  • Familiar with LEXIS, cite-checking and bluebook proficiency;
  • Experience reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies;
  • Experience with subpoenas for records from private and governmental entities, including health care providers;
  • Experience assisting with interviewing witnesses, collecting and organizing information and documents;
  • The ability to manage document reviews and productions, including bates numbering and logging productions;
  • Experience with ESI and understanding of e-discovery procedures;
  • Work efficiently within a team driven environment, the ability to prioritize assignments and delegate when necessary;
  • Experience in trial preparation and assistance at trial.
