Marsha Gentner, Washington, D.C.-based Senior Counsel in Dykema’s Intellectual Property practice group, was quoted in The Hollywood Times article, “Celebs Sued by the Paparazzi: Dykema Intellectual Property Attorney, Marsha Gentner Offers Her Expert Advice.”

In the article, Gentner discussed several cases of celebrities who have been sued by paparazzi for posting images of themselves to their social media without obtaining copyright permission from the photographer. Citing the U.S. Copyright Act, Gentner said the photographers have a case for infringement. She advised both celebrities and non-celebrities to not “repost it if you don’t have the rights or a license.”
