On February 20, 2014, Jonathan S. Feld, a member of Dykema’s Litigation Department whose practice focuses on complex civil and criminal matters including anti-bribery actions, participated in a roundtable discussion on “anti-corruption” at the World Services Group Meeting of the Americas held in Miami, Florida.

World Services Group (WSG) is a global membership network of top-tier professional business services firms around the world. There are over 130 member firms in the WSG who operate in the United States and more than 115 countries around the world. In four of the markets in which it has offices—California, Michigan, Illinois and Washington, D.C.—Dykema is the sole corporate law firm member of WSG.

In his remarks, Feld outlined the continuing aggressive enforcement of anti-corruption statutes by two U.S. agencies—the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)—talked about legal and business issues related to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and explained how to structure an internal investigation in this area.
