Justice Phylis Speedlin and Zack Beaver Featured in Law360 Veterans Day Story

Justice Phylis Speedlin, San Antonio-based Senior Counsel in Dykema’s Litigation Department, and Zack Beaver, Chicago-based attorney in the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, were each quoted in the Law360 article, “From Military To Law: What Attys Took From Their Service.”

In the article, Speedlin, who served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp., spoke about co-founding a pro bono clinic in 2010 where volunteer attorneys provide legal advice to military veterans at a San Antonio veterans’ hospital through the San Antonio Bar Association’s Community Justice Program. Beaver, who served in the U.S. Army, shared how his service in the military exposed him to different cultures, people, and perspectives, and how he uses that “understanding of people to help bridge gaps that may not be readily apparent.”
