Dan Stern, San Antonio-based Member in Dykema’s Labor and Employment group, was quoted in the Law360 article, “OSHA’s Wave of Virus Fines Fail To Win Over Skeptics.”

In the article, professionals weighed in on fines OSHA levied on two meatpacking plants for failing to provide safe work environments for their employees during the pandemic and other ways OSHA could have levied stiffer penalties. Stern said OSHA’s enforcement efforts “could have been more aggressive,” and that fines would not deter every company, but would make them more aware of OSHA and CDC guidelines, which, in turn, could lead to more compliance.
