Andrew P. Scott, Chicago-based member in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, will serve as faculty member at the 15th Annual Commercial Real Estate Institute, presented by PLI. This two-day event will be held in Chicago, at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center, October 28-29, 2013.

In his one-hour presentation, Scott—whose practice focuses on zoning, land use, governmental entitlements and various forms of economic development incentives—will  address “Government Involvement in Real Estate Development,” focusing his comments on such key topics as:

  • what it takes to lay groundwork for successful public/private partnerships;
  • state and local financing sources;
  • public land acquisition and disposition;
  • understanding the needs of the primary participants: public entities, private parties and lenders;
  • how to structure the transaction;
  • short- and long-term transaction compliance issues

This two-day program is geared toward practicing attorneys—either in-house or outside counsel—who handle commercial real estate matters. The Institute is CLE-accredited and offers one hour of Ethics credit.
