Lance Boldrey, Lansing-based member of Dykema’s Gaming & Indian Law practice group, and leader of the firm’s emerging Cannabis Law practice team, was quoted extensively in the Law360 analysis, “Seneca Nation’s Halt To Revenue Sharing Raises Questions.”

The story examines the possible consequences of the tribe’s decision to stop paying New York State a quarter of its slot machine revenues after a 2002 stipulation to do so expired last year. Boldrey opines that the State has little recourse under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and notes that many states are competing with tribal enterprises by establishing their own games, leading to discontent among native-American communities.
