On Wednesday, March 27, Dykema will host a breakfast roundtable session in its Bloomfield Hills office. The event, “Navigating the Exchanges and Minimizing the Employer Pay Mandate in a Post-PPACA World,” will provide business owners and senior company executives a look at how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) will impact those employers with 50 or more full-time employees (or full-time equivalents) who, beginning in 2014, fail to offer affordable health care benefits to substantially all full-time employees.

Dykema and The Hylant Group, an insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy, will examine all the implications of the mandate, including: the cost penalties of failing to comply, the administrative burdens companies will face in assessing how many full-time employees they employ, the challenges employees will encounter as they seek to procure subsidized insurance via the new health care exchanges and other factors affiliated with the mandate that can have profound cost penalty consequences.

This two-hour seminar—to be preceded by a 7:30am registration and breakfast—will run from 8:00am-10:00am. Dykema intends to offer the same two-hour seminar at additional sessions beginning in May, 2013—date and time TBD.
