Marsha Gentner Authors IP Magazine Article About Copyright Issues in the Music Industry

Marsha G. Gentner, Washington, D.C.-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, authored the article, “Legal mash-up,” which appears in Intellectual  Property Magazine.

In the article, Gentner highlights the Department of Commerce Internet Policy Task Force’s White Paper on Remixes, First Sale, and Statutory Damages, which is an effort to reassess copyright policy as it evolves in the digital age. Gentner goes on to discuss what remixes are, who the stakeholders are, the current legal framework for remixes, the alternatives form the status quo considered, and what can be done if a business implicates remix/copyright issues.
