Hoon Noh, Los Angeles-based member of the Firm and co-leader of Dykema’s Korea Team, will moderate a panel discussion at the 2013 US-Korea Law Day Event, presented by the US-Korea Law Foundation. This year’s event marks the third consecutive year of this day-long meeting and will be held at KIA Motors headquarters in Irvine, California on Saturday, July 27. The event attracts lawyers, law students and other professionals involved in US-Korea legal matters.

Noh and his panel members—several of whom are Korea-based attorneys—will discuss a wide variety of compliance-related cases in consumer finance and labor and employment. Among the topics to be addressed:

  • Consumer Finance Law: The Citibank Mileage Case and U.S. Consumer Finance Law Comparison
  • Wrongful Hiring and Firing
  • Labor Dispute Proceedings
  • The U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and its Jurisdiction over Non-Union Employers’ Social Media Use Policies

The US-Korea Law Foundation seeks to establish the comparative study of law and the legal system in these two countries, by advancing educational and networking opportunities in which the academic, legal, business and government communities can share knowledge. Dykema has actively supported US-Korea Law Day since its inception.
