Khalil and Fonté Author Chapters in ABA Treatise on Electronic Payment Systems

Erin Fonté, Austin-based Leader of Dykema’s Financial Services Regulatory and Compliance Group and Co-Leader of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Practice, and Elizabeth Khalil, Chicago-based member in Dykema’s Government Policy Practice Group, are contributors to the American Bar Association’s 2018 publication, Electronic Payment Systems: Law and Emerging Technologies.

Fonté wrote the chapter titled “Mobile Wallets/Mobile Payments and Peer-to-Peer Payments,” which discusses the nature, risks, regulatory framework, and recommended policies for these types of transactions.

Khalil co-authored the chapter “Nonbank Money Transmitters,” which explains these types of transmissions, the applicable federal and state regulations, security concerns, and provides predictions for the future.
