Miziolek Quoted in Crain's Detroit Business, "The Bid from Brazil"

Director of Dykema's Automotive Industry Group, Aleks Miziolek, was quoted in Crain's Detroit Business' coverage of the acquisition of Northville, Michigan-based Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. by Brazilian Iochpe-Maxion. The deal, expected to close in 2012, will double the size of the Brazilian wheel and chassis manufacturer with the addition of 17 plants in 12 countries.

According to the article, the deal came as a surprise to many M&A experts who expected similar deals to be made by European and Chinese investors, rather than South American. Still, the Hayes Lemmerz acquisition is just one of several business ventures that will contribute to the Brazilian economy. Said Miziolek about this trend, "It's just part of the natural progression as Brazilian companies see the value of the industry." She goes on to predict that the trend will continue as the Brazilian economy grows.
