Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of E. Lee Horton to its Litigation Practice Group as Senior Counsel in the firm's Los Angeles office. Horton was previously a partner in the Dispute Resolution Group at Waller Lansden.

Horton has extensive experience in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He also has served as national counsel for companies on various legal business and technical issues and has tried lawsuits throughout the United States.

In his new role at Dykema, Horton will continue to counsel clients in dispute resolution law.

"Lee has an impressive track record in high-level, high-stakes, complex and technically oriented litigation with a variety of companies in the areas of aviation, product liability, labor and business," said Rex Schlaybaugh, Dykema's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The addition of a lawyer with his background and experience will add considerable depth to our already strong litigation team and underscores the firm's commitment to expand our capabilities in this area."

With his prior firm, Horton served as outside general counsel for an international company involved with aluminum space structures for architectural and industrial applications. He also has served as outside general counsel for an aerospace company involved in the development, manufacture and flight test of state-of-the-art-proof-of-concept aerospace vehicles. Most recently, he successfully represented clients in a disputed merger and a shareholder derivative action.

Horton served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot both in the United State and in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and 45 Air Medals. He left active military service with the rank of Captain.

He received a J.D. magnum cum laude from Southwestern University and a B. S. in Environmental Biology from The University of California at Santa Barbara.

With more than 170 attorneys engaged in business litigation nationally, Dykema's Litigation Department includes attorneys with substantial experience representing clients as national, regional and state counsel for some of the largest corporations in the world.
