Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Richard G. Goetz, Leader of thefirm’s International Practice Group and a founding member of The Conference Board’s Council of Senior International Attorneys, has been appointed Program Director for the Council commencing April 1, 2009.

The Conference Board’s Council of Senior International Attorneys is a by invitation only group of senior attorneys from global companies who have responsibility for the supervision of their companies’ international legal staffs. The primary purpose of the Council is to provide a forum to discuss legal issues that arise as companies conduct business globally and develop a peer network for senior international attorneys to share their experiences informally and off-the-record.

Mr. Goetz has over 35 years experience providing counsel on international legal matters to automotive clients including serving as Associate General Counsel – International for a major vehicle manufacturer. At Dykema, Mr. Goetz counsels clients engaged in a broad range of inbound and outbound and other international investment, distribution and sourcing activities. He also provides counsel on joint ventures and other complex business relationships, corporate, merger and acquisition, finance and international compliance matters. His knowledge of global business and investment issues, coupled with first-hand experience in dealing with the legal matters confronting companies doing business around the world, including Brazil, China, India, Mexico, and Russia, provides clients with a distinct advantage when establishing a new operation or production facility abroad or when companies from abroad seek to enter the U.S. market.
