Dykema Attorney Speaks At CLLA Chicago Meeting

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Richard M. Bendix, Jr., member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice area, is scheduled to speak at the 79th Chicago/Spring Meeting & 115th National Convention of the Commercial Law League of America, April 16-19, 2009 at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Mr. Bendix will be part of a panel discussing "Creditors’ Committees – Opportunities and Pitfalls," at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17.

The Commercial Law League of America ("CLLA") is a respected organization of attorneys and other experts in credit and finance actively engaged in the field of commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency. Since 1895, The CLLA has been associated with the representation of creditor interests, while at the same time seeking fair, equitable and efficient administration of bankruptcy cases for all parties in interest.

Mr. Bendix frequently represents debtors, creditors’ committees, individual creditors, and institutional lenders in out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 11 cases. He has written and lectured on a wide variety of bankruptcy issues. Among the organizations to which Mr. Bendix has given presentations are The American, Missouri, California and Chicago Bar Associations, the Kellogg School of Management, the John Marshall Law School, the National Business Institute, the University of Texas Law School, the Illinois CPA Society, The American College of Bankruptcy, and the Uniform Commercial Code Institute.

A resident of Chicago, Mr. Bendix received a B.A., with highest honors, with high distinction, in 1972 and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1975.
