Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the launch of AutoLawNews.com, an automotive blog created to give clients an analysis of recent industry decisions and regulations as well as guidance on the complex industry issues resulting from the current economic climate.

The blog will provide clients with the perspectives and analysis from the firm’s Automotive Industry Team, breaking news within the automotive industry, and articles featuring Dykema attorneys. It will also provide news and analysis from the firm’s annual Automotive Survey.

With more than 75 years of experience representing companies in the automotive industry, Dykema has one of the most extensive automotive legal practices in the United States. The firm’s attorneys regularly represent automotive companies headquartered throughout the world. Dykema counsels suppliers and OEMs in multi-million-dollar mergers and acquisitions, in a broad array of automobile product liability, commercial and supply chain management litigation, in class action litigation in the most challenging jurisdictions, and before the U.S. Department of Transportation and other federal and state departments and agencies.

Attorneys Tom Bishoff, Jerry Lievois, Tom Vaughn and Frank Dunne will serve as the blog’s editorial board.

Bishoff is co-leader of Dykema's Automotive Industry Team and frequently represents automakers and major auto suppliers in high stakes commercial disputes, with an emphasis on warranty and cost recovery actions and troubled supplier litigation.

Lievois, also a co-leader of Dykema's Automotive Industry Team, is a corporate finance lawyer. He represents automotive manufacturers and suppliers in complex financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and general corporate and contract matters.

Vaughn’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, public securities offerings, public company securities compliance and private placements of securities involving institutional, venture capital and private investors.

Dunne is Senior Counsel on the automotive team. He served for over 30 years on the General Motors Legal Staff and for 6 years was a senior executive in the company’s North American Sales and Marketing function. For most of his legal staff career he was GM's principal attorney for all marketing and trade regulation matters.
