Levin has extensive experience defending and prosecuting trademark and copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation claims. He has litigated a wide array of other complex commercial disputes involving issues of lender’s liability, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, corporate governance, real estate, audit malpractice, and entertainment law. Levin represents clients in federal and state court, at trial, and on appeal.

"Fredrick has an impressive track record in high-level, high-stakes litigation with a variety of companies," said Rex Schlaybaugh, Dykema’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The addition of a lawyer with his talents will add considerable depth to our already strong litigation team and underscores the firm’s commitment to expand our capabilities in this area."

"In light of the increasingly complex issues facing financial institutions, Fredrick’s experience with these businesses is particularly valuable in our current economic climate. His understanding of issues related to the changing economic environment and broad financial industry knowledge will provide significant value to our clients," said Craig Hentschel, managing member of the Los Angeles office. "We welcome him to the Los Angeles office and look forward to his contributions."

Levin, a Detroit native, served as a law clerk to the Honorable John Feikens of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Before coming to the firm, Levin was a partner at Mayer Brown LLP.

A frequent author and lecturer, Levin is President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Legal Division of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles.

He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and an A.B. cum laude from Princeton University.
