Cox Smith, the largest law firm in San Antonio, today announced that the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA) has awarded Cox Smith and shareholder Donna McElroy with its prestigious President’s Awards in recognition of their commitment and hard work on behalf of the bar. The awards were presented today at SABA’s monthly luncheon, where Cox Smith energy litigator Marty Truss was confirmed as SABA’s new President-Elect.

In presenting the President’s Award, SABA thanked McElroy for her dedication and service, highlighting her strategic counsel and contributions to SABA’s personnel committee. As head of Cox Smith’s Labor and Employment Law Department, McElroy and her team of employment and employer rights attorneys are problem-solvers who help employers develop and implement solutions to everyday challenges. Their approach is to focus on identifying practical ideas and solutions that are aligned with the goals and objectives of a company’s leadership team and operations. A graduate of Auburn University and Tulane University School of Law, McElroy is included in the Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers™ and has been repeatedly recognized by The Best Lawyers In America and Texas Super Lawyers.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Donna for more than two decades and am delighted that SABA is recognizing her for her commitment and dedication to serving others. It’s also quite an honor for the firm to be recognized by SABA and we look forward to continuing to support them in the future,” said Deborah Williamson, managing director of Cox Smith.

SABA also recognized Cox Smith’s Dan Harkins, Patti Giuliano, Deana Simon and Barbie Celaya as its Community Justice Program (CJP) Volunteers of the Month for July 2014. For more than 12 years, Cox Smith attorneys and staff have supported CJP by volunteering their time at CJP pro bono legal clinics, which help low-income residents in the community access pro bono legal services.
