Cox Smith Names Three New Shareholders

Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated ("Cox Smith") today announced Rodrigo Figueroa, Erin Fonté, and Jonathan Schlueter have been named shareholders of the firm. Rodrigo and Jonathan are based in the firm's headquarters in San Antonio, and Erin is based in the firm's Austin office.

Erin is a member of the firm's highly regarded banking and financial institutions practice area, where she assists clients with a broad range of matters related to banking and financial services, e-commerce, technology/Internet products, privacy and data protection laws, and general corporate matters. She represents national banks, state banks and bank holding companies and their officers, directors and shareholders in corporate, securities and regulatory matters, as well as providing operational lending, compliance and litigation services. Erin also has experience with privacy issues, and has handled numerous technology-oriented matters for software, computer hardware, banking, Internet and retail corporate clients. Cox Smith's banking practice area recently received U.S. News-Best Lawyers' highest ranking, being named Tier 1 in Austin. Admitted to practice in California and Texas, Erin is currently serving on the board of directors of Texas Association of Bank Counsel and as co-chair of the Austin chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Rodrigo Figueroa, a shareholder in the firm's public law department, advises clients on state and local government matters, regulatory and public utility administrative law and real estate matters. His experience includes counseling public entities, private businesses and individual clients on open government matters and drafting and negotiating franchise agreements, leases and asset purchase agreements. Rodrigo is a 2008 graduate of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lab, and is a member of the American Bar Association, San Antonio Bar Association, and the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association. He serves as a member of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio and as co-recruiting chair of the firm. Rodrigo is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and has been recognized by Scene in SA magazine as one of San Antonio's "Rising Stars."

Litigator Jonathan Schlueter assists national and regional clients with matters related to business litigation, with an emphasis on construction matters and disputes. Jonathan has assisted numerous owners, general contractors and subcontractors on a myriad of complicated issues arising from disputes related to construction projects. A graduate of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lab (2010), Jonathan is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association Construction Law Section, Texas Bar Association Construction Law Section, ABA Construction Law Section, ABA Forum on the Construction Law Industry, Association of Builders and Contractors, Association of General Contractors, and Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
