Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Paul A. Wilhelm, an employment litigator with the firm, has been appointed by the Defense Research Institute (DRI) to serve as the inaugural Chair for the new FLSA Subcommittee within the DRI Employment Law Committee. The FLSA Subcommittee will serve DRI members, including defense lawyers and in-house counsel, and their clients. Among the goals of the FLSA Subcommittee will be to provide continuing education and resources to defense counsel, along with insight into best practices for handling this specialized area of employment litigation, which is growing at an exponential pace.

DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. DRI provides numerous educational and informational resources to its members and offers many opportunities for liaison among defense trial lawyers, in-house counsel and state and local defense organizations.

Mr. Wilhelm represents regional and national employers in all aspects of discrimination, wage-and-hour (FLSA) issues, and ERISA litigation, and counsels employers on workforce management. He also serves in the community on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer for the Notre Dame Club of Detroit. Mr. Wilhelm earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, his M.A. from Vanderbilt University, and his B.A., with distinction, from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky, along with numerous federal courts.
