Dykema Attorneys Organize And Participate In Real Property Law Section Breakfast Roundtable

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Stephen R. Estey, A Member from Dykema’s Real Estate practice group, is the organizer and Chairperson for the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan’s upcoming program entitled a program entitled "When Advertisement Isn’t Enough" – The Court Process and Foreclosures/Workouts. Stephen R.Estey, Brian M. Mooreand Adam M. Fishkind will participate and present roundtable discussions as part of the event. This Groundbreaker Breakfast Roundtable will be held at the Detroit Athletic Club on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The program will include a panel discussion with Judges from the Wayne and Oakland County Circuit Courts. The distinguished panel will discuss emerging issues relating to judicial foreclosures, receiverships, lien priorities and guaranty actions. The program will be followed by a series of roundtables discussing both current trends and issues in foreclosure by advertisement and judicial foreclosures, including common pitfalls, legislative changes, deficiency actions and upset prices, among other topics. Mr. Estey will discuss Judicial Foreclosure and Mr. Moore will discuss Receiverships. Mr. Fishkind will be discussing loan workouts.

Stephen R. Estey's practice comprehends multiple disciplines within the commercial and real estate arenas. Mr. Estey actively represents lenders with regard to large commercial foreclosures and real estate loan workouts. He handles a wide range of matters before both state and federal courts as well as administrative and municipal tribunals involving both business and real estate related disputes. He routinely represents energy industry clients including telecommunication carriers and utilities involved in the transmission of electricity throughout the Midwest. He also has extensive experience in expediting land use entitlements, and resolving a wide variety of disputes related to zoning, planned unit developments, special land uses, condemnation/takings, easements, boundary and title issues, construction, contracts, and various regulatory and administrative challenges, among others. A resident of Plymouth, Mr. Estey received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University.

Brian M. Moore is a Detroit-based litigator and the firm’s Assistant General Counsel. His extensive litigation experience has resulted in many successful outcomes for national and international corporations in state, federal and appellate courts throughout the United States. Mr. Moore’s primary emphasis is in the area of commercial litigation. He handles commercial real estate, business, and tort litigation matters for clients in many sectors, including real estate, automotive, accounting and financial advisory services, banking, insurance, construction, consumer products, retail, and transportation. Mr. Moore’s practice is multi-faceted, as he has extensive experience in the area of pharmaceutical drug and medical device litigation. A resident of Rochester Hills, Mr. Moore received a B.A., with distinction, from Michigan State University and a J.D., cum laude, from University of Detroit Mercy.

Adam M. Fishkind represents all parties involved in real estate based transactions including investors, lenders, developers, owners, and operators. He advises clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, management, financing, and syndication of a wide variety of real estate projects such as office buildings, industrial properties, telecommunications facilities, single family and multi-family communities, regional shopping malls, strip shopping centers, parking facilities, hotels, golf courses, and planned developments. Mr. Fishkind also a member of the firm's Financial Institutions Team and has significant experience representing national lending institutions and borrowers in the negotiation, structuring documentation and enforcement of commercial real estate acquisition loans, construction and land development loans and various other commercial lending transactions.
