Borders Appointed Dykema Chicago Office Managing Member

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Michael C. Borders, a member of  the firm’s Litigation Department has become the Office Managing Member of the firm’s Chicago office. He succeeds former Chicago Office Managing Member Derek Cottier. 

Borders is a member of Dykema’s Executive Board and concentrates his practice on a wide variety of litigation matters including insurance disputes, product liability, personal injury, commercial disputes, and class actions. He has been an attorney at Dykema for over thirty years.

He has been recognized by Law & Politics as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” for Insurance Coverage, Civil Litigation Defense and Class Action/Mass Torts for nine consecutive years.  He was also selected to the list of “Top Lawyers in Illinois” by Chicago Lawyer in 2012. 

He is involved with numerous local and civic organizations including serving on the boards of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Mercy Housing Lakefront, Friends of Prentice Women’s Hospital, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Illinois Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

He received both his J.D. and B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
