Dykema Announces Executive Board Appointments

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today that the firm has selected six members to serve on its Executive Board for a three-year term commencing on January 1, 2021. The firm will benefit from the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of the highly accomplished leaders appointed.

Those appointed are listed below with brief bios and descriptions of their practices.

Alison R. Ashmore – Dallas

Alison Ashmore is a member in Dykema’s Litigation Department. She regularly counsels clients on disputes with customers, partners, and employees, and on protecting confidential business information. Alison handles breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, fraudulent transfer, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and other business claims.

Ashmore earned a J.D., cum laude, from Baylor Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Hardin-Simmons University.

Brendan J. Cahill – Bloomfield Hills

Brendan Cahill, who previously served as the former Director of Dykema’s Automotive Industry Group, was re-elected for a second term on the firm’s Executive Board. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, investments, and joint venture transactions; business planning; and general corporate counseling. Cahill’s experience includes middle market acquisitions and dispositions for private equity and strategic clients, with particular experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries.

Cahill earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan and a B.A., with honors, from the University of Notre Dame.

Dommond E. Lonnie – Los Angeles

Dommond Lonnie is the Director of Dykema’s Automotive Industry Group. He has represented numerous domestic and foreign businesses and has substantial product liability experience in crashworthiness, airbags/restraints, fires and suspensions/tires/rollovers, brakes, and fuel systems cases. Lonnie implements litigation and investigation plans and manages all aspects of litigation and pre-suit claims to successful resolution.

Lonnie earned a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Wilhelm E. Liebmann – San Antonio

Will Liebmann, a member of Dykema’s Business Services Department and the Corporate Finance Practice Group, was re-elected for a second term on the Executive Board. Liebmann advises public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, joint ventures, and general corporate and partnership matters. He counsels companies on corporate governance, financial reporting and disclosure, and SEC compliance issues.

Liebmann earned a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University.

Lori McAllister – Lansing

Lori McAllister formerly served as Dykema’s General Counsel. Her practice is focused on complex commercial litigation and the defense of class action lawsuits. McAllister also serves as outside general counsel to both public and privately held companies, advising on such issues as corporate governance compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, and audit committee responsibilities.

McAllister earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Central Michigan University.

Edward S. Weil – Chicago

Ed Weil was reelected to a second term on Dykema’s Executive Board and also serves as co-leader of the firm’s Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities Special Servicer Group. He has been at the forefront of legal issues affecting financial institutions, special servicers, private equity firms, and all of the constituent parties in workouts and bankruptcies. He also formerly served sd Director of the Firm's Financial Industry Group.

Weil earned a J.D. from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
