Dykema Adds Cinthia Granados Motley to Co-Lead Its Privacy and Data Security Practice Group

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Cinthia Granados Motley as a member in the firm’s Chicago office where she will serve as Director of Dykema’s Global Data Privacy and Information Security practice group. Ms. Motley joins Dykema after serving as Co-Chair of Sedgewick, LLP’s Cybersecurity and Privacy practice.

Ms. Motley brings to Dykema an active national and international practice that focuses on data privacy and security, as well as cross-border data transfer and information governance matters.  She routinely acts as incident response counsel to national and multi-national entities, as well as privacy litigation counsel. She has been selected by the National Law Journal as a CyberSecurity Trailblazer, as well as winner of the Corporate International Global Award as Cybersecurity Litigation Lawyer of the Year in Illinois (2017 and 2018). In the past years, Ms. Motley has also been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers Top Women Attorneys in Illinois and in Super Lawyers Rising Stars.

Ms. Motley also has extensive litigation experience which includes consumer and privacy litigation, international contract disputes, directors and officers liability, ERISA and professional liability matters. She routinely counsels clients in complex commercial disputes both domestically and abroad.  She has handled litigation matters across the country and represented clients in appellate matters before the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Circuits and before the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Motley is also an active member of the legal community, including the Seventh Circuit e-Discovery Pilot Program Committee, where she leads the Data Privacy and Security Project team. She is also an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law and an active board member of the Chicago Claim Association.

Motley earned a J.D., cum laude, from the DePaul University College of Law, and a B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.
