Four Dykema Attorneys Named 2012 Southern California Super Lawyers

For three attorneys, it’s 7th consecutive year to be so honored

February 14, 2012

DETROIT—Leading national law firm Dykema today announced that four of its lawyers, each resident in the Los Angeles office, have been named to the 2012 edition of Southern California Super Lawyers.

The four Dykema lawyers selected by Southern California Super Lawyers in 2012 are:

Allan Gabriel (Member, IP Litigation). 2012 marks the 7th consecutive year Gabriel has been recognized by Southern California Super Lawyers. His practice focuses on patent, trademark and copyright infringement, trade secrets and right of publicity claims. He has handled complex and sophisticated litigation matters for clients in such industries as software development, high tech components, publishing and various entrepreneurial realms.
Daniel J. Stephenson (Member, Litigation, Class Action Defense, IP Litigation). Stephenson has earned the distinction of being listed in Super Lawyers in two regions: Southern California (2011, 2012) and Michigan (2006, 2007 and 2009). Stephenson, the former Managing Member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office, is currently Director of the firm’s 180-lawyer Litigation Department. He focuses his litigation practice on the defense of companies in the pharmaceutical, consumer product and aviation industries. This latter realm is particularly well-served by Stephenson’s undergraduate degree in engineering.

Derek S. Whitefield (Member, Litigation, Product Liability, Automotive Product Liability Litigation). This is the 7th year in a row that Whitefield has been named to Southern California Super Lawyers. Whitefield, who formerly led the firm’s Automotive and Products Liability Practice Group, currently serves on Dykema’s Executive Board. One of the nation’s most knowledgeable lawyers regarding air bag technology and regulation, Whitefield focuses his national trial practice on the defense of product manufacturers, business enterprises and insurance companies.

Ronald M. Greenberg (Senior Counsel; Litigation). This is the 7th consecutive year that Greenberg has been named as Southern California Super Lawyer. Greenberg’s practice focuses on business, commercial, wrongful termination, tort, insurance coverage, product liability litigation, appellate, international and domestic arbitration, and other forms of ADR. A highly respected arbitrator and mediator, Greenberg is past president of the World Jurist Association and has attended every world congress of that organization since 1979.

The Super Lawyers list of outstanding attorneys is created annually, and uses a multi-phase selection process that starts with a statewide survey of lawyers, includes an independent evaluation of candidates by the publication’s attorney-led research staff and concludes with a rigorous peer-review process in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. As testimony to the exclusivity of the Super Lawyers list, only 5 percent of the total lawyers in a state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.
