DETROIT - Dykema Gossett PLLC is pleased to announce that T.L. Summerville, a member resident in the firm's Detroit office, is now President of the Wolverine Bar Association (WBA) and the Wolverine Bar Foundation (WBF). Mr. Summerville was sworn in as President on June 23, 2011 at the annual Presidents' Reception, which took place at the Roostertail in Detroit.

The Wolverine Bar Association was formally established in 1934 to coordinate the talents of the increasing number of African-Americans attorneys in Michigan and combat the ills of segregation within the profession and more generally in the Detroit community. Since then, the WBA has assumed a leadership role in community and political activities. The WBF is WBA's charitable arm.

T.L. Summerville's law practice focuses on business and commercial disputes, consumer finance matters, and defense of personal injury claims. He has represented clients in breach of contract and fraud cases, real estate development suits, construction litigation cases, environmental contamination actions, matters involving consumer credit and residential mortgages, automotive supplier disputes, premises liability cases, and suits involving allegations of negligent design and manufacture of both automobiles and pharmaceutical products. Additionally, T.L. has advised and assisted clients responding to requests for information or documents in connection with criminal investigations in both federal and state courts. He has also represented pro bono clients in breach of insurance contract and landlord-tenant matters.

In addition, T.L. is an active member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and sits on the Board of Directors for the Rhonda Walker Foundation, a local nonprofit that helps inner-city teen girls find the path to becoming tomorrow's leaders.
