Walead Esmail Joins Dykema in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES—Dykema Gossett LLP announced today the addition of Walead Esmail as an associate in the firm’s Financial Services Litigation practice in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Dykema, Esmail served as general counsel for a recording company where he was responsible for managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including legal disputes involving copyright and trademark infringement matters.

Esmail’s general litigation experience includes the representation of individuals as well as international and Fortune 500 companies in the financial services and entertainment industries. He has experience handling a wide variety of complex commercial litigation and intellectual property matters involving contract, securities, fraud, bankruptcy and insurance issues. 

Esmail received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he was the Managing Editor of the school’s Journal of Science and Technology Law. While in law school, Esmail was recognized with several academic honors including being named a Paul J. Liacos Distinguished Scholar and the G. Joseph Tauro Scholar. Esmail also served as Film Committee Chair of the Communication, Entertainment and Sports Law Association.
