Dykema today announced that energy litigator James M. “Marty” Truss has been sworn in as the 91st president of the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA).

Truss has been actively involved in SABA leadership since joining its board of directors in 2009. “I’m honored to serve the San Antonio Bar Association and my legal colleagues as president of SABA. SABA does important work in serving the citizens of San Antonio and in encouraging the highest degree of dedication and professionalism of the city’s attorneys,” said Truss.

Co-leader of Dykema’s Energy Industry Group, Truss represents major and independent producers, operators and other mineral interest owners, as well as oil field service companies, drilling contractors, pipeline companies and refiners in a wide variety of business litigation. He frequently handles litigation involving disputes concerning mineral title, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, pipeline agreements, IADC contracts, trade secrets, and securities fraud.

The largest law firm in San Antonio, Dykema attorneys have a long history of serving the SABA. In recognition of their commitment and hard work on behalf of the bar, the bar awarded the firm and employment attorney Donna McElroy with its prestigious President’s Awards in December 2014. SABA also recognized Dykema's Dan Harkins, Patti Giuliano, Deana Simon and Barbie Celaya as its Community Justice Program (CJP) Volunteers of the Month for July 2014. For more than 12 years, Dykema attorneys and staff have supported CJP by volunteering their time at CJP pro bono legal clinics, which help low-income residents in the community access pro bono legal services.
