Christyn M. Scott has a significant amount of litigation experience and has achieved successful outcomes for clients at both the trial court and appellate level in federal and state court.

Christyn’s practice focuses on real estate litigation, and she has successfully handled cases in numerous areas of litigation, including:

  • Real estate litigation, including lease termination/negotiation, zoning disputes, violations of the Open Meetings Act, easement/boundary line disputes, title priority disputes, title issues, mortgage fraud claims, and contested foreclosures
  • Consumer finance litigation, such as defending claims involving violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Michigan Consumer Protection Act, and credit card disputes for some of the nation's largest financial institutions
  • Cannabis-related litigation
  • Business contract disputes
  • Complex commercial litigation
  • Cases involving fraud and other business torts
  • Gestational surrogacies, embryo donation agreements, sperm donation agreements, and adoption matters, including newborn adoptions (both within Michigan and interstate), foster parent adoptions, and same-sex adoptions

While in law school, Christyn participated in the Trial Practice Institute. After winning various scholastic awards, including the Dean Charles King Scholarship, she graduated in the top ten percent of her law school class.
